Quand la musique magnifie les arts en s’en inspirant.
Dans Masques et Bergamasques (1919), Gabriel Fauré empreinte à la commedia dell’arte ses personnages cultes Pantalon, Colombe et Arlequin et révèle leurs caractères à l’aide de rythmes, de mélodies et d’harmonies judicieusement choisies et jamais caricaturaux. Benjamin Britten choisit Les Illuminations de Rimbaud pour composer un cycle de mélodies porteur de rêves et de liberté . La musique du compositeur anglais illustre à merveille les atmosphères oniriques du poète français et les prolonge incroyablement. Dans la Symphonie « écossaise », l’orchestre esquisse les brumes des highlands, magnifie les flots marins et les orages. Le style romantique et passionné de l’écriture musicale de Mendelsohnb offre un écho amplifié aux histoires romanesques de Walter Scott. Couronnée lors du Concours international « La Maestra » à la Philharmonie de Paris en 2020, Stéphanie Childress est la cheffe idéale pour faire sonner ces épopées orchestrales.
