Un voyage musical de Francfort à Londres, autour d’œuvres maîtresses de Mendelssohn et Haydn.
Considéré à juste titre comme l’un des monuments du répertoire pour violon, le Concerto n°2, op. 64 de Felix Mendelssohn fut créé en 1845 par son dédicataire, le violoniste Ferdinand David. Mendelssohn ne put entendre son œuvre qu’en 1847 à Leipzig, un mois avant de s’éteindre. La douceur et le lyrisme du thème exposé dès la seconde mesure au violon captive l’auditeur et le plonge immédiatement dans une promenade mélodique à la fois intimiste, rêveuse et fantaisiste. Les dialogues incessants entre le soliste et l’orchestre rendent cette œuvre parfaitement homogène, tant dans l’enchainement des tonalités abordées que sur le plan de l’équilibre instrumental.
Pierre Fouchenneret, jeune violoniste français menant une carrière internationale déjà bien remplie, nous livrera son interprétation de cette œuvre émouvante avec toute la douceur et la technique requises.
